We welcome guests to join us at our meetings. The Tent (Chapter) meetings are held four times per year in Carson City, Nevada. Our meetings are rich with Civil War history and include speakers, trivia, share and tell, ancestor minutes, and roundtable discussions. We are happy to answer any questions about our organization and how to obtain membership. We also participate in other events throughout the year.

The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861 – 1865 is a not-for-profit organization formed to unite the daughters, granddaughters, great granddaughters, and all female direct lineal descendants of honorably discharged Union Veterans of the Civil War in promoting our principle mission which is: to perpetuate the memories of our ancestral fathers who served in the Civil War, to honor their loyalty and their unselfish sacrifices to preserve the Union, and to keep alive the history of those who participated in that heroic struggle for the maintenance of our free government.

Our organization has eight Objects: Civil War history, maintaining a free library, historic preservation, education, patriotism, celebrating our Union Veterans, volunteering, and community cooperation. To see the full details about our Objects, please visit our National website.

All applications for membership shall include a completed application and one copy of authentic documents to prove eligibility (copies only) and must include the war record of the ancestor’s war record from whom eligibility is derived. Each applicant shall pay an admission fee when submitting the application.

Upon verification and approval, annual dues will be requested and are required for membership acceptance. Tents meet regularly to carry out various exciting activities. Members in Tents may hold office and qualify to serve as a delegate at the annual State and National Conventions.
