We are pleased by your interest in learning more about our organization. Please, take your time and explore our website as there is so much to see.
Who We Are – The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861 – 1865 (DUVCW) is a not-for-profit organization formed to unite the daughters, granddaughters, great granddaughters, and all female direct lineal descendants of honorably discharged Union Veterans of the Civil War in promoting our principle mission, which is: to perpetuate the memories of our ancestral fathers who served in the Civil War; to honor their loyalty and their unselfish sacrifices to preserve the Union; and to keep alive the history of those who participated in that heroic struggle for the maintenance of our free government.
The Objects of Our Organization include the study of American history, especially the history of the Civil War, preserving monuments, historical sites, documents, relics, individual service records of Union soldiers, and observance of all patriotic anniversaries.
Chartered on February 16, 2014, the women of Johana Shine Tent 96 take great pride in our shared heritage. We are direct descendants of one or more honorably discharged soldiers and sailors who served in the Union Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Revenue Cutter Service during the American Civil War (1861-1865). Please visit the Honor Roll page to learn more about our ancestors.
